  1. Help - Net-Control alarm port and baudrate                    08.09.92
  2. Besides the possibility, to write the alarm messages
  3. into the logfile and broadcasting them to the other
  4. Net-Recorders (Net-Control stations), you can also
  5. configure special outputs to the serial or parallel
  6. port.

  8. You have to select in ⌠-Special Alarmoutput- Port:⌡
  9. if you want to send the messages to one serial port
  10. (⌠COM1⌡ or ⌠COM2⌡). (Don't forget the correct baudrate.)
  11. The messages are sent ≤without≥ flow control and DTR is
  12. asserted before the message and deasserted after it.

  14. If you select ⌠LPT1⌡ or ⌠LPT2⌡, the value assigned to the
  15. alarm message will be sent to the choosen parallel port.

  18. ≤Assigning values to alarms:≥
  19. To every alarm you can assign one value between
  20. 1 and 255. This value can be edited in decimal or
  21. in binary. The default setting of ⌠0⌡ means, that
  22. this alarm has ≤no≥ value assigned to it.

  24. ≤This value can be used in two ways:≥
  25. You can define your own priority for the alarms
  26. (value 1 - unimportant to value 255 - critical alarm).
  27. Net-Control writes assigned values in the corresponding
  28. alarm messages behind one ⌠°⌡ character.

  30. On the other hand this value is written to the parallel
  31. port, if in configuration menu the alarm port LPT1 or
  32. LPT2 has been choosen. By additional hardware (for
  33. example an 8 channel centronics relais-interface)
  34. you have the possibility of special reaction to alarms.
